Cardiff City LFC were one of the front runners of Junior Development in wales being one of the seven clubs making up the the inaugral junior girls league now named the South Wales Girls League.
That was in 1995 when the league was formed with just one league and the age band for the team was 11 - 16 years old. Since then the league season by season has grown in stature not just in its structure but the number of teams involved and ultimately the number of girls now playing on a regular basis week by week. With the formation of the South Wales Girls League as we see it today is in line with the boys game with girls playing in a two year age gap and a league for under 10's, 12's, 14's, 16's and 18's.
Cardiff City LFC currently play in the Under 12's, U 14's and U16's league, and all share the same training venue at Whitchurch High School on a Friday night - anyone interested in joining please see our contacts page.
