U12's Update U12's Update (30th Jan 2009 09:42 AM)
Article by: Zoe Mendham

The following reports are from matches played on Sunday 25th January 2009, played at Port Talbot.

CARDIFF 2 PORT TALBOT 1

Slow to start, made hard work of it, went a goal down against a dogged Port Talbot side. But sheer determination got us the equaliser from Casey and captain Shannon scored the winner.

Not our usual pass and move football but big credit goes to the way we outworked this physical side in the second half.

CARDIFF 2 PENYDARREN 0

Katie was a big loss to us in this one having to leave early after her excellent performance against Port Talbot.

Again made hard work of it but stepped up the pace with sheer hard work against a much improved Penydarren side.

We were never going to lose the game but played more on instinct rather than with our heads,

Overall we gained six points so we have to be happy with that.

However, we can put this Sunday down to lack of games in the last 6 weeks.

A big improvement is required next week!

Thanks to Shannon who got out of her sick bed for this one and well done Alice who tried to play football and battled throughout.
